Artist Keith Tucker has had about as varied a career as anyone can ask for. He grew up in Los Angeles and made a name for himself as a muralist, only to be lured to Hawaii in the 1970s. By time the '80s rolled around, Keith returned to Hollywood as a storyboard artist for movie and animation productions likeRobocop, Pinky and the Brain, and Star Trek II. For the last 30-years, the Emmy-award winner has split him time between the islands and LA.
Now, Keith has a blog, Hula Girls and Tiki Gods, promoting one of his loves artwork based on the Polynesian Pop movement. As the name suggests, each update includes one of his images of a tiki or wahine, along with an accompanying video culled from YouTube. It's a neat format that helps bring the art to live. Keith also has included links to prints and merchandise of the work available for sale.
